WTO arbiters side with Russia in dispute with EU over energy price

BRUSSELS, Jul 24 (PRIME) -- A group of arbiters of the World Trade Organization (WTO) supported Russia in a dispute with the E.U. over energy price adjustments, the WTO said in a statement on Friday.

The officials recommended that the E.U. bring their measures in compliance with the anti-dumping agreement in the WTO.

Russian Economic Development Minister Maxim Reshetnikov said, as cited by the ministry, that he hopes that the E.U. will fulfill the decision of the WTO. "The arbiter group has satisfied Russia’s key demands. We hope that the E.U. will fulfill the decision promptly and duly. This will significantly improve the conditions of Russian goods' access to the E.U. market by removing historical discrimination of Russian producers during E.U. anti-dumping investigations," Reshetnikov said.
